If you take me to the beach, I will wear a straw hat with a light weight long-sleeved shirt and sunscreen and sandals, which I will take off. What I will really want to do is build a sand castle, decorate it with pretty bits of beach stuff, look for little beach critters, stare at the sky, and stand in the surf saying "eek!" each time a really big wave comes. Oh, and I talk and listen a lot too.
The spirit of light-hearted, simple enjoyment of the world is not incompatible with responsibility and adulthood. I have plenty of all of the above.
